Adults

Adults classes are design for ages 15 & over. We have many levels to choose from. We have classes for the absolute 'Beginner' all the way up to the 'Advanced Choreography/Technique' class.

We teach a variety of dances from the 2 different styles in Ballroom Dancing.

STANDARD - Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot & Quickstep
LATIN - Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Swing, Salsa, Merengue & Mambo

Other dances such as Boston 2 Step, Barn Dance and many other group social dances can be taught as well. Look below for a detailed description of each level.

BEGINNER
This is your first step towards becoming a 'Ballroom Dancer', CONGRATULATIONS!! In each 7 week course you will be taught the basics of 4 dances, ie Cha Cha, Rumba, Waltz & Tango. In one course, we teach 2 Standard & 2 Latin dances.

In the class, Richard & Claire teach together to demonstrate both the male and female steps. We use wireless microphones so you can hear everything we have to say.

Once you have completed your first 7 week course, you stay in the beginner for the next course to learn the other 4 dances, ie Samba, Swing, Foxtrot, Quickstep. When you feel ready to go to the next level, you enter the intermediate class. Ask Richard or Claire if you have any questions regarding what class you should be in.

INTERMEDIATE
Once you have completed 2 Beginner courses, this level is for you. It is a continuation of what you have learned in the last beginner course. We add another 1-3 Steps to each dance that you already know. We discuss a little more about technique and also timing in each dance.

ADVANCED
When you feel confident that you can easily dance the steps from the intermediate level, then this level is for you. We start this level teaching the Pre-Bronze/Bronze Syllabus for International style. Because the dances are more challenging, we only teach 2 dances at a time. A package of group and private lessons is advised when you reach this level, as technique will only further you enjoyment and understanding of each dance.

CHOREOGRAPHY/TECHNIQUE CLASS
This is for those dancers that like a real challenge. In this class we teach once dance over the 7 week course, the syllabus is a variety of steps from Bronze level to Gold. In this class we also talk more about technique, arm styling and intrepretation. We strongly advise dancers to take the group/private package.
